TrainSmart's health articles explain everyday healthy habits — movement, strength, sleep, recovery, eating habits and hydration — in plain language, backed by evidence. This page explains how they are made, so you can judge how much to trust them.
Who writes them
Articles are published by TrainSmart Editorial, the team behind the free TrainSmart workout planner. We are not doctors, and our articles don't replace one.
How we choose topics
We look at what people are actually searching for, using Google Trends across the countries our readers live in, and pick the questions about healthy habits that are on many people's minds. We don't write about diagnosing or treating illness, medicines, or supplement dosing.
How articles are researched and written
Drafts are researched and written with the help of AI tools. Every factual claim must be backed by a source: public-health bodies such as the NHS, CDC, NIH and WHO, academic medical centres, or peer-reviewed research. Numbered markers in the text show which source supports which statement, and the full list of sources is at the end of each article.
Review before publishing
No article is published until an editor has read it, checked that each source exists and supports the claim it is cited for, and approved it. Each article shows the date it was last updated.
Translations
Articles are written in English and translated into Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, French, Chinese and Arabic with the help of AI tools. Every translation is checked automatically to contain the same sections and the same sources as the English original.
Corrections and updates
When the evidence changes or we find a mistake, we correct the article and change its "Updated" date.
Independence
Our articles contain no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links, and no one pays us to cover a topic or a product.
Not medical advice
Our articles are general information to help you build healthy habits. They are not a substitute for advice from a doctor or another qualified professional who knows your health, especially before you make big changes to your exercise, diet or sleep.
